The attraction of emerging market currencies

October 2010. Emerging market currencies are coming under increasing scrutiny. In this paper Amit Tanna, a senior portfolio manager in J.P. Morgan Asset Management's currency group based in London, argues that many emerging market currencies (particularly in Asia) could outperform in the coming months, driven by rising inflation, higher interest rates and growing pressure from western policymakers.
